Isreal has successfully completed the consruction of an iron wall arround Gaza boarder to prevent constant militant intruders.
This was a plan in 2016 so as to protect Israel from Palestianian attacks and to stop attacks by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Israel on Tuesday 6, 2021 announces the successful completion of Gaza Strip to increase security in the boarder. Israel is constantly attacked throungh that route.
Israel has fought 4 wars since they seize power from the group in 2007.
In 2018 and 2019, Palestianians use violent protest to prevent the construction of the wall which lead to the death of about 200 palestianian soldiers and Israel and several of Palestianians wounded.
Reports revealed that the barrier extends from underground equipped with high sensors to help any attempted entry by millitants that uses tunnels.
It also includes improvements to an existing above-ground fence, a naval barrier, radar systems, and command and control rooms.
Defense Minister Benny Gantz said, around 220,000 trucks of concrete and 140,000 tons of iron and steel were used during construction.
Gantz says the “iron wall”, stretching 65-kilometers (40-miles), will be a barrier “between the terror organization and the residents of Israel’s south.”
Israel, the European Union, and the United States classify Hamas as a terrorist organization.
