UCC School of Health to Develop Postgraduate Mental Health Programmes

The university of Cape Coast popularly known as the University of Choice is developing postgraduate programes for the school of memtal nursing.

The initiatives was brought about by the school of Nursing, Midwifery and Mental health. For some years now the school has made effort in training a number of mental health personnels to boast the counry’s mental health sector. There are others currently working in the health sector and some teaching in the nursing colleges of education.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is one of four (4) Schools in the College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS.

The school has seen the need to broadening the knowledge base of her products to be able to perform challenging duties both in the health sector and also in the teaching of health personnel in the nursing colleges of education. There are several programmes that will be developed under the postgraduate level by the initiative.

Meanwhile the school is celebrating her 60th anniversary. A lot of lectures and exchange programs is going on to commemorate the celebrations.

Nothing can be 100% perfect on earth. The school having been categoriesed as one of the best universities in the world wouldn’t want to remain as she is now. In one of the lectures given by the VC. He said UCC would not want to rest on it leurals of success and sleep without forging foward for the best. A lot of skills orientated programs has been initiated to help pave way for the better and to the benefit of the countryl at large.
