An Excellence and Distinction Awards organised yesterday July 18, 2022. by waec to adward students that perform exceptionally in waec examinatioms in 2021. The Head of National Office, Mrs. Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey noted that the awards over the years have always confirmed the high reliability of the Council’s examinations as all the award winners have been found to have track records of excellent performance in their schools which makes the awards a cridible one.

Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey further indicated that there are many website operators that are always concerned about their money making and engage in activities that are meant to undermine the integrity of the council some of which include social media scammers whose primary aim is to make money at the expense of the credibility of WAEC examinations. She said these activities continue to militate against the councils integrity. She said, it has been one of the Council’s major challenges.

She added that the Council was working closely with the Police, National Investigative Bureau (NIB), National Security and other security agencies to address the situation. She called on the awardees to be worthy ambassadors in the fight against the canker of examination malpractice.

The HNO assured all stakeholders that the Council will continue to put in place measures to ensure that the credibility of its examinations is not undermined.

Its factual that, some websites operators and bloggers normally give information of leaked papers which is normally not true. The council is therefore warning those who do engage in such practices to desist from it because it is a way of undermining the council’s credibility.
